cause black is the color of absent lightwaves. can't compress or stretch what isn't there.that was easy..

Very well, but if you follow that train of thought, no tyre is truly black. They're not made of Vantablack. Even the darkest, newest and cleanest tyre still reflects back photons and they would be redshifted. And the black on the picture isn't black, it's gray.
Wow, look at us, bunch of nerds debating the scientific validity of a joke :)
